2014 Highlights: Part 2

Oh the places we have visited this year!  On the top of both of our bucket lists was to spend a month backpacking Europe. The opportunity to cross this item off our list arose in the time between Ted's graduation and receiving his certifications to begin working.  On a whim we booked a flight and set out on building a loose itinerary for our month in Europe.  Since that month we have returned to Europe again for another 10 days and checked a whole lot more things off of our bucket list. Some including . . .

Drink a beer at Oktoberfest in Munch
Go on a gondola ride in Venice
See the Eiffel Tower
Plan an impromptu vacation and leave that week
Visit Rome
Drink a glass of wine in a Tuscan hill town
Bike across the Golden Gate Bridge
Lock up a love lock and throw away the key

2014 you certainly grew my love for adventure!

2014 Highlights: Part 1

I simply cannot believe that we are getting ready to wrap up another year.  I wanted to take time and highlight some happenings from 2014.  In all honesty this year has, by far, been my favorite year yet.  Because I just can't get enough of 2014 I thought I would break this up into two posts.  Today highlighting some of my favorite client photo shoots and later this week highlighting some of my favorite personal photos.

2014 was the year that I made the leap to follow my dreams and make photography my full time job. It was a difficult decision full of emotion, fear and uncertainty.  I haven't looked back once. Photography is my true passion and I feel my love for photography growing deeper with every photo shoot. This year I worked on an amazing project with the Downs Syndrome Guild of Southeast Michigan, photographed a whole bunch of little ladies in their momma's wedding dress, shared in wedding days and met so many amazing families.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting my passion and letting me share in the story of your family.  Thank you for letting me into your homes and making silly faces to get true smiles, thank you for exploring parks together, showing up rain or shine and letting me share tears of joy with you on your wedding day.  My clients are the best and for you I am so, so thankful.

Lindsey's Baby Bump

Ted and I are currently at that awesome stage in our life where all of our friends are going through all of these different milestones in life.  It is so much fun to experience these milestones alongside our friends and celebrate, celebrate, celebrate.  A new milestone for our group of friends is . . . babies! Chris and Lindsey are expecting this January and I was so happy I could snap these pictures of Lindsey's growing baby bump after her baby shower. I love the genuine smiles on these two and how much fun they had joking around during their shoot.  Their babe is going to be one lucky kid to have these two as parents. We can hardly wait to meet your little guy!

Beacome Family

The Beacomes were one of my first clients when I started on this crazy journey with Caryn Ashley Photography, and I am so thankful for their constant support of my little business.  This year we met on a beautiful November evening at Farmington's Heritage Park for their family pictures. The sun was just right, the leaves were still changing and we found this perfect little open field while exploring the park. Thanks so much for your continued support, Beacome Family- you guys are the best!

Moore Family

I met up with the Moore family in Kensington Park for their family shoot.  We had a wonderful afternoon exploring the park and enjoying the changing leaves.  The weather cooperated this day so we were able to take our time during the shoot without having anyone freeze- a blessing for a late October shoot in Michigan! Thank you for spending the afternoon with me Moore family and I hope you enjoy the photographs as much as I do!
